The Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper, is introducing a brand extension in the form of The Globe and Mail Caribbean Odyssey, a 10-day luxury cruise designed specifically to serve the interests of Globe and Mail readers and good life enthusiasts.
The once-in-a-lifetime exclusive tour covers the best of the Caribbean including activities and ports of call selected specifically for The Globe and Mail. Marketing to support sales of the cruise kicked off with the launch of its special microsite at globeandmail.com/caribbeanodyssey, with experiential marketing at exclusive events and locations in Toronto planned for later this month.
Inspired by some of the tenets of The Globe’s new weekday section, Globe Life – food, wine, and the good life - the Globe and Mail Caribbean Odyssey sets sail Jan. 25/08 on board the 220-cabin Seven Seas Navigator, a 6-star luxury liner by Regent Cruise Lines, The World’s Best Large Ship Cruise Line according to Condé Nast Traveler. Hosted by Phillip Crawley, Globe publisher and CEO, and Edward Greenspon, editor-in-chief, the unique cruise features a special custom itinerary with port exclusivity for most destinations, gourmet classes and demonstrations featuring Food Network celebrity chefs, wine tastings hosted by Globe wine expert Beppi Crosariol, and behind the news events with The Globe and Mail columnists and editors.
“This cruise brings The Globe and Mail to life in a 10-day experience - the embodiment of inspiring, stimulating, and life-changing reading,” says Crawley. “We wanted to offer our readers a magnificent, unparalleled voyage, inspired by what Globe Life and The Globe and Mail brand stand for: commitment to original thinking and quality content.”
